How the test works
Fast, flexible and personalized
Developed by Oxford University Press, the test adapts to each learner’s ability, presenting questions at the right level. This makes the test experience faster, more precise, and less stressful.
Learners can decide when and how to take the test, completing all skills together or individually, and retake modules to improve their scores. Each test provides a score rather than a simple pass or fail, giving a clear picture of progress and achievement. Results are available on the same day for Listening and Reading, and typically within five days for Speaking and Writing.

Oxford Test of English for Schools
The Oxford Test of English for Schools is a general English proficiency test recommended for learners aged 12–16.
Developed by Oxford University Press and certified by the University of Oxford, it provides a reliable measure of English ability at A2–B2 levels of the CEFR.
The test follows the same format, scoring, and timing as the Oxford Test of English, but the topics and tasks are designed to reflect the interests and experiences of younger learners. This makes it relevant, motivating, and accessible for school-aged test takers.
Certificates and report cards are identical in format and recognition to those issued for the Oxford Test of English, meaning schools and learners can trust the results for placement, progress measurement, and achievement.
Oxford Test of English Advanced
The Oxford Test of English Advanced is a high-level English proficiency test designed to assess communication skills at B2–C1 levels of the CEFR.
Developed by Oxford University Press and certified by the University of Oxford, it measures the advanced English learners need for academic, professional, and international success - from writing structured essays and interpreting complex information to presenting ideas with clarity and precision.
The test is personalized to provide an accurate measure of ability, ensuring fairness for every learner. It is modular, fully online, and recognized by universities and employers around the world.
